Homeland Security
Large-scale sensor networks for chemical detection
From missile defense shields to border control, homeland defense
has taken center stage. Vigilance is the watchword. However, in
a land so grand and a culture so free, vigilance is no small task
to achieve.
Technology is playing a vital role in our effort. With sensor
networks along the borders, facial recognition software in our
ports and biometrics going into our passports, we are seeking to
secure our shores. Networks of sensors will watch our skies,
breathe our air and test our water for signs of danger from
without and within.
Distributed Instruments' servers provide the means to integrate
this vast amount of data in real time, providing a complete and
accurate view of our homeland and making that data available
to the first responders.
